Track and Trace Using Technology

Track and Trace has become a vital part of businesses reopening, particularly for Pubs & Restaurants. With Health & Safety at an all-time high due to the pandemic and in order to meet certain government guidelines, Track and Trace needs to be installed. But how is the best way to go about it?

We have seen a few different solutions to Track and Trace since Pubs & Restaurants were allowed to reopen including short forms online and the traditional pen & paper method. However, I have a few ideas to help speed this process up and keep hygiene at an all-time high by not having to share pens.

  1. Mailchimp

Simply put, Mailchimp can help you collect the data you need, by creating a short custom form that enables you to ask the questions you need & get the consumers data so that Track & Trace alerts can be set up as required. Mailchimp is a free software solution for data capture through forms anyway, so only a setup cost is required.

  1. Sign In App

This is a much more comprehensive way of capturing the data needed and is the method that I would recommend. Sign In App can be used through an iPad (securely locked away for safety) to ask your visitors specific, custom questions to gather the right information. All you need to do is set up the questions and you’re away. Alternatively, with Sign In App is the QR scan code. This then launches the questions on the visitor’s phone, rather than using an iPad at the entry. The QR code allows queues to flow naturally and means that cross-contamination will not occur.

Track and Trace is a must for Pubs & Restaurants to allow them to stay open, and using the technology around can help you to not miss any visitors and gain the exact data you need to report on. Not only that, but it can be used in the future, when Track and Trace is no longer required, to gain data for competitions or general sign ins.
